Orbit Health is a digital company that has been at the forefront of digital innovation in Ethiopia for the past four years. To promote digital innovation, Orbit Health is preparing to launch Orbit Innovation Hub to aid digital startups by incubating/ accelerating their business ideas to product launch within 4 months.

For 2021, Orbit Innovation Hub will accept proposals for technology-based innovative startups and businesses to incubate/Accelerate, to promote socio-economic development and competitiveness through innovation. Orbit Innovation Hub wants to incubate or accelerate digital solutions that address socio-economic problems with special consideration to digital healthcare solutions.

Priority Areas

Our priorities are Technology-Based Solutions and digital Healthcare based solutions that address socio-economic problems and can create jobs subsequently.

Eligibility Requirements

Readiness:
- Startups must have at least the following
  - 3-5 Page of the business concept of the proposed venture
  - Maximum of 10 slide PowerPoint deck
- Those seeking an acceleration program must have the following
  - Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
  - Proof of Concept

Market Potential: Proposed ventures must clearly demonstrate their market potential.

Capacity: Must be self-driven, committed, and coachable teams or individuals
Strategic Impact: Must address major socio-economic issues and challenges
Alignment with priority areas: Startups must have a value proposition that aligns with OIH priority areas.

Job-Creating Potential: proposed ventures should have the potential to provide job opportunities upon product launch or company maturity.

Application Process

Application Submission: Interested applicants will fill out the form on our website (see Apply for Cohort1 below) and submit the required documents via the provided email.
Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted one week after the closure of the application window to be selected as finalists.

Workshop: Finalists will be provided a 5-day workshop opportunity where applicants will be given the opportunity to refine their startups or acceleration plans. The final selection for Cohort 1 will be made by the end of the workshop.
